Obverse description At centre, a stylised lotus flower vignette flanked by guilloche underprint panels; to the left, the Islamic Rub el Hizb (eight-pointed star) and to the right the national emblem comprising a crescent moon and five-pointed star. Denomination and issuer inscriptions appear in both English and Urdu script, with fine lathe-work borders framing the entire face.

Reverse description To the left, an intaglio vignette of the Tomb of Allama Mohammed Iqbal in Lahore rendered in fine line engraving against a light blue sky, surrounded by trees and landscaped steps; to the right, a large geometric medallion with multicolour diamond-pattern guilloche in pink, blue, and purple. The numeral "1" appears at lower left, with "ONE RUPEE" in English below the vignette and an Urdu inscription in Naskh script along the bottom margin. "GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN" is printed across the top in serif letterpress.
