Reverse description The reverse presents a finely detailed high-relief portrayal of HMS Victory, the famous First Rate ship of the line associated with Admiral Nelson and the Battle of Trafalgar, depicted under full sail upon stylized ocean waves. A large ship's wheel is rendered in the right field as a background element, accompanied by decorative maritime motifs including skull-and-crossbones and floral medallions distributed around the field. The inscription VICTORY is engraved in bold letters along the upper portion of the field, and the date 2020 appears in the lower exergue.

Additional information

Issued to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, this coin is one of a series of commemorative pieces released by smaller island-nation mints increasingly contracting with private minting houses to produce collector-targeted gold-plated issues. The Seychelles had no meaningful military role in the conflict, making the commemorative framing somewhat arm's-length — the islands were a British Crown Colony at the time, and the war's effects were felt primarily through trade disruption and garrison costs rather than direct combat.
