Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of Queen Victoria facing left, engraved by William Wyon after his celebrated 'Young Head' portrait. The bust is truncated at the neck and displays finely rendered hair swept back and gathered in a chignon at the nape, with a single curl descending behind the ear. The field is plain and smooth, with an inner beaded border encircling the design. The curved legend 'VICTORIA QUEEN' arcs along the upper periphery in raised Latin letters.
