| Mô tả mặt trước | The obverse field is entirely occupied by three horizontal lines of bold Nastaliq Arabic-Persian calligraphy, divided by ruled linear bands and enclosed within a fine beaded border. The uppermost register bears the royal epithet of Tipu Sultan, the central register carries a continuation of his titles and the regnal year notation, and the lower register records the mint and additional formulaic inscriptions. The lettering is deeply struck with characteristic flowing strokes of the Mysore hammered coinage style. |

| Mô tả mặt sau | The reverse field is similarly filled with three horizontal registers of Nastaliq Persian calligraphy, separated by incuse ruled lines and surrounded by a beaded circular border. The uppermost band contains a pious invocation, the central and widest register bears the name of the ruler — Tipu Sultan ibn Hyder Ali — along with the regnal year, and the lowermost band records the mint name Patan and additional dating elements. The script is executed in the vigorous, somewhat irregular style characteristic of late-18th-century Mysorean hammered silver rupees. |
