| Beschrijving voorzijde | The entire field is occupied by a two-line Farsi poetic couplet in bold Naskh/Nasta'liq script, reading right to left across the flan. The legend, rendered in deeply struck relief on an unadorned field, proclaims that the heavens bring gold and silver from the sun and moon to receive the impression of the seal of Timur Shah. The irregular flan edges are characteristic of the hand-struck hammered coinage of the Durrani dynasty, with the inscription sometimes running off the edge of the coin. |
