Aanvullende informatie

Pakistan's transition from the larger cupro-nickel rupee to a smaller, lighter format was a drawn-out affair complicated by competing proposals and material cost pressures throughout the late 1980s. This nickel brass plated copper pattern represents one of the trial specifications evaluated before the definitive circulation type was settled — the plated construction was ultimately rejected in favor of a solid alloy, almost certainly on durability grounds given plating's susceptibility to delamination in high-volume circulation.
