| Opis rewersu | Central device of a trisul (trident) rising prominently from the field, flanked by beaded floral ornaments and crescent motifs arranged symmetrically across the flan. The Vikram Samvat regnal date appears within the surrounding legend, with Persian-script inscriptions distributed around the trisul device. Varieties are known by the form of the trident's central tip — either straight or triangular — and by the presence or absence of accompanying dots, reflecting the hand-struck nature of Amritsar mint production. The overall design is consistent with late Sikh Empire coinage conventions. |

Sher Singh's reign lasted barely two years before he was assassinated in September 1843 by Ajit Singh Sandhawalia, a killing that triggered a cascade of court murders and ultimately destabilized the Lahore Durbar enough to invite British military intervention within the decade. Coins struck under his authority are consequently limited in number, and the Amritsar mint output represents a geographically distinct emission from the primary Lahore issues.
KM#22.5 is differentiated from related types by its Amritsar mint identifier — a detail that matters to attribution but is easily missed without reference.
