| Beschrijving keerzijde | Central field dominated by a two-line Shahada in bold naskh script: the upper line reads 'La ilaha illa Allah' (There is no god but God) and the lower line 'Muhammad rasul Allah' (Muhammad is the Messenger of God), the whole forming the Islamic declaration of faith. Surrounding the Shahada within the inner circle, the names of the four Rightly Guided Caliphs — Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman, and Ali — are distributed in the field, a hallmark of Sur Empire rupee coinage affirming Sunni orthodoxy. The legends are enclosed by a plain inner circle and a decorative beaded or rope border. The outer marginal band carries a continuous Persian or Devanagari legend encircling the periphery. The die work is bold and deeply impressed, typical of the hammered silver rupees struck at provincial Sur mints during the reign of Sher Shah Suri. |
