| Beschrijving keerzijde | Persian inscription in nastaliq script arranged within a polylobe cartouche, pointed at both top and bottom, set against a plain field and enclosed within a dotted border following the edge of the flan. The inscription gives the mint name and formula of issue. The cartouche form is typical of Afsharid rupee reverses of this type, and the strike, while bold, shows the characteristic irregular outline of hammered production. |

Shahrokh, a grandson of Nader Shah, ruled Khorasan in a state of near-permanent catastrophe — blinded by a rival in 1750, briefly restored, then blinded again. His coinage from this second reign reflects a fractured administration issuing currency from a kingdom reduced largely to the city of Mashhad and its immediate surroundings. The multiple "Type" classifications in this series stem from successive administrative resets as Shahrokh's court attempted to reassert legitimacy through recoinage.
