Reverse description Central field similarly divided by a crossed grid into four quadrants, containing the Kalima (Islamic declaration of faith) in bold Nasta'liq script: 'La ilaha illallah Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the messenger of God). The mint name Pattan Deo (Somnath) and the regnal year appear in the surrounding marginal legend. Ornamental pellet rosettes punctuate the corners of the central square, consistent with Mughal die-engraving conventions of the Shah Jahan period.
