| Obverse description | Central field bears the Kalimah Tayyibah (Islamic declaration of faith) inscribed in a square cartouche: 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad Rasool Allah' (There is no god but Allah, Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah). The four margins surrounding the central square contain the names and epithets of the Four Rightly Guided Caliphs — Abu Bakr (al-Siddiq), Umar (al-Adl), Uthman, and Ali — each in a dedicated border panel. All inscriptions are rendered in elegant Naskh-style Arabic script, a hallmark of Mughal calligraphic coinage. |
