The legend reads 'Shah Jahan / Badshah Ghazi / Sikka Mubarak', proclaiming the emperor's name, his title as victorious king, and the auspicious coinage formula. The script is deeply struck in the characteristic Mughal style, with the text arranged in parallel horizontal registers divided by raised linear borders. The irregular flan edge and variable strike are typical of Mughal hammered coinage of the early eighteenth century. |
