Obverse description Central field bearing the Kalima Shahada (Islamic declaration of faith) rendered in bold Naskh calligraphy, enclosed within a foliated eightfoil cartouche composed of stylized floral and scrolling vegetal ornament. The surrounding field is densely filled with interlocking arabesque decoration in the characteristic Mughal hammered style. The overall composition reflects the deeply religious and calligraphic aesthetic of Mughal imperial coinage.
