Obverse description Hammered silver flan bearing a two-line Persian legend in bold Nasta'liq script occupying the central field, reading 'Shah Alam Badshah' with the customary Mughal imperial formula. The legend is arranged in sweeping calligraphic bands characteristic of late Mughal coinage, with a partial marginal inscription running along the periphery of the irregularly shaped flan. The surfaces show natural die wear and metal flow consistent with hand-struck production. No figurative imagery is present, in keeping with Islamic numismatic tradition.
