| Obverse description | Central field bears the Persian inscription of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II in bold Nastaliq script, arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line. The upper register contains the royal name and title, while the lower register carries the AH regnal date. The legends fill the flan to the rim with characteristic Mughal calligraphic fluidity, with no border or ornamental device. |
