Reverse description The reverse displays Persian Naskh script arranged in a flowing, characteristic Maratha-Mughal style, with the mint name Merta (Merta mint, under Jodhpur administration) and the regnal year (RY) of Shah Alam II. A floral or foliate decorative element appears prominently in the upper portion of the field, typical of the Jodhpur mint style, with the AH date and regal year legend distributed across the flan. The calligraphy is deeply struck with bold strokes consistent with hammered silver coinage of the period.
