Obverse description Central field occupied by the Persian inscription naming the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II, rendered in bold Nastaliq calligraphy within a rectangular cartouche framed by decorative dotted borders. The AH regnal year appears in the upper segment above the cartouche, while a partial mint or auxiliary legend occupies the lower register. The overall design follows the standard Mughal rupee format, with inscriptions arranged in horizontal registers across the flan.
