Obverse description Hammered silver rupee struck in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II at the Maheshwar mint. The obverse displays the royal Persian legend in Nastaliq script arranged in two horizontal registers within a ruled border, reading the auspicious royal title. A crescent device appears at the upper margin of the field, a characteristic feature of Indore State coinage of this period. The legends are boldly struck with the calligraphic style typical of late Mughal-era princely state issues.
