| Obverse description | Central field displays the 'saheb-e-azl-e-elah' couplet in flowing Nastaliq Arabic script, struck in the name of Mughal emperor Shah Alam II. The AH regnal date appears prominently in the center of the field. The legends are arranged in two registers separated by a horizontal line, with additional inscriptions occupying the upper and lower margins. The overall style follows the traditional Mughal rupee format as adapted for Gwalior State issues. |
