Obverse description Central field bearing the Mughal imperial Persian legend 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi' in bold Nastaliq script, arranged in multiple lines across the flan. The inscription, invoking the auspicious coinage of the victorious king Shah Alam II, is executed in the characteristic flowing style of late Mughal hammered coinage. Decorative pellet ornaments appear in the field between the lines of script. The legends fill the coin nearly to the rim, with no border other than the irregular hammered edge.
