| Beschrijving voorzijde | Struck in the name of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II (1761–1806), this hammered silver rupee bears the royal Persian-script legend in the field, arranged in multiple lines with the regnal year frozen at 26. The inscription names the emperor and his titles in flowing Nastaliq calligraphy, characteristic of late Mughal coinage. The field is divided by a decorative floral spray or branch motif, a hallmark of Awadh-affiliated issues. The legend is contained within a plain linear border typical of Banaras mint rupees of this period. |

The mint name and additional Persian legends are arranged around the central device within a plain border. The calligraphy is bold and characteristic of the Banaras mint style used throughout the Sa'adat Ali Khan period. |
