| Reverse description | The reverse displays the frozen regnal year 26 (Julus 26) of Shah Alam II prominently in the central field in Nastaliq script, flanked by the distinctive Banaras mint marks: a flag and star above, and a fish symbol below, the latter being the emblem of the Nawabs of Awadh. The mint name and additional Persian legends are arranged around the central device within a plain border. The calligraphy is bold and characteristic of the Banaras mint style used throughout the Sa'adat Ali Khan period. |
