Obverse description Persian inscription in three horizontal registers within a decorative cartouche, bearing the name and titles of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II in flowing Nasta'liq script. The legend is framed by ornamental foliate borders above and below, typical of late Mughal coinage conventions. The field displays characteristic hammered surfaces with irregular flan edges. A pellet or dot is visible in the central field. The overall style follows the Mughal epigraphic tradition adopted by Maratha mints issuing coins in the emperor's name.
