| Description de l’avers | Struck in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, the obverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in Naskh script arranged across the field in three registers divided by horizontal floral bands. The central inscription contains the royal titulature of Shah Alam II along with the Hijri regnal year. A cluster of raised pellets is prominently displayed in the central field, a distinctive feature of the Anwala mint type. The legends and ornamental elements are characteristic of late Mughal coinage style as adopted by the Rohilkhand state. |
