The legend records the regnal year (sanah) and the auspicious accession formula 'julus maimnat manus', with the mint name 'Zarb Akbarabad' (struck at Akbarabad) prominently inscribed in the lower register. Bold, sweeping strokes characteristic of Mughal die-cutting are evident throughout the field. The flan edges are irregular, consistent with hand-struck Mughal production. The reverse layout follows the standard late Mughal rupee format for the Akbarabad (Agra) mint. |
