| Obverse description | The entire field is occupied by a three-line Persian legend in elegant Naskh script, divided by two horizontal ruled lines. The uppermost line bears the Hijri regnal date 1215 above the opening phrase of the royal titulature. Decorative floral and pellet ornaments fill the spaces between and beside the inscription bands. The legend reads 'Sikka Mubarak Badshah Ghazi Shah Alam,' proclaiming the auspicious coinage of the victorious Emperor Shah Alam II. A fine toothed border encircles the entire design. |
