| Obverse lettering | شاه عالم بادشاه حامي دين محمد ساى فضل لله سكة زد بر حفت كشور (Translation: Defender of the religion of Muhammad, Shah Alam Emperor Shadow of the divine favour, put his stamp on the seven climes.) |
| Reverse description | The reverse bears a multi-line Persian legend in Nasta'liq script arranged in three horizontal registers across the field, recording the mint name, regnal year, and the auspicious epithet of the reign. The central band prominently displays the frozen regnal year 19 (١٩) alongside the word 'julus' (accession), flanked by small star and rosette ornaments. The lower register names the Murshidabad mint (ضرب مرشداباد), and the upper register carries the phrase 'maimanat manus' (of tranquil prosperity). A plain inner circle frames the legend, surrounded by a finely toothed milled border. The design is purely epigraphic, consistent with late Mughal and early British-Indian coinage conventions. |
