| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered silver field bearing the Hijri date AH ١١٩٢ in Arabic numerals, with the numeral 9 struck in reverse — a notable die peculiarity characteristic of this issue. A multi-rayed star or sun motif appears prominently in the upper portion of the field, flanked by Arabic inscriptional elements in the Mughal epigraphic tradition. The flan shows irregular edges typical of hand-struck princely state coinage of this period. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Chhatarpur was a small Bundelkhand state whose rulers minted in the name of the Mughal emperor Shah Alam II — a common practice among princely states seeking legitimacy during a period when Mughal authority had collapsed almost entirely in practical terms. By 1778, Shah Alam II had already been blinded and held effectively captive, his name on coinage functioning as a legal fiction rather than any acknowledgment of real imperial power.
