Shah Alam Bahadur's reign lasted barely three years, beginning only after he defeated his brothers in a succession war following Aurangzeb's death in 1707 — the last time a Mughal emperor would take the throne from a position of any real military strength. Karimabad was a minor provincial mint, and its output under this reign is correspondingly scarce.
KM#347.11 is among the more difficult mint attributions in the series to confirm, as Karimabad strikes are frequently misidentified against nearby provincial issues with partially legible mint names.
