| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse bears a multi-line Arabic script legend arranged in horizontal registers across the irregular flan, with a raised horizontal rule dividing the field. The upper register contains the opening lines of the royal titulature in Urdu Nastaliq script. The inscription reads: 'Malikah Mu'azzam rafi ud-darjat / Victoria farman rawai / Inglistan / sikkah mubarak', proclaiming Queen Victoria as the exalted and honoured sovereign of England, and designating the coin as an auspicious issue. The field is plain with no figurative devices, consistent with the Islamic numismatic tradition of this princely state. Dotted ornamental borders are partially visible at the periphery. |
