Obverse description The obverse presents three horizontal registers of bold Nasta'liq Arabic script filling the flan, separated by raised linear bands. The upper register bears the auspicious phrase 'Sikka Mubarak' (Blessed Coin), the central and dominant register carries the imperial name 'Shah Alam' in large, deeply struck characters, and the lower register reads 'Badshah Ghazi' (Warrior King).
