Aanvullende informatie

Nizam Ali Khan, the second Nizam of Hyderabad, ruled from 1762 until his death in 1803 — meaning coins attributed to his name continued to be struck well after he died, a common practice in Mughal-derived princely minting where the reigning name carried dynastic legitimacy rather than strictly denoting the living ruler. Issues from the Aurangabad mint during this window were produced under the authority of his successors, who retained his name on the coinage to preserve continuity of commercial trust across a vast trading region.

Aurangabad's mint had operated under Mughal imperial sanction since the 17th century, founded when the city itself was established by Aurangzeb.
