| Obverse description | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a four-line Persian inscription arranged within two concave arc-shaped registers divided by raised linear borders, a characteristic layout of Awadh rupees of this period. The uppermost register bears the royal epithet 'Sultan ul-Zaman' (Sovereign of the Age), the second line carries the regal name 'Nasir ud-Din Haidar', the third line reads 'Badshah Ghazi' (Warrior King), and the lowermost register contains the Hijri regnal year 1251. The legends are rendered in a bold Naskh-style script and the coin is enclosed by a finely milled outer border. |
