正面描述 The obverse displays a bold Persian-script legend in the Mughal calligraphic tradition, arranged in multiple horizontal lines across the field, separated by ruled dividing lines. The inscription reads in the name of Ahmad Shah Durrani, following the Durrani imperial formula adopted as a nominal overlord. The lettering is deeply struck in a flowing Nasta'liq style characteristic of Sikh-era hammered coinage. The irregular flan edge reflects the hand-cut nature of the planchet. The overall composition is typical of north-western Indian princely rupees of the mid-nineteenth century.

背面描述 The reverse bears sparse Persian or Gurmukhi identifying marks in the central field, serving as the Patiala state's mintmark or regnal identifier, as was customary on Sikh princely coinage of this period. The design is minimally decorated, with bold strokes occupying the upper portion of the flan and horizontal ruled lines visible in the lower field. The strike is characteristic of a hand-hammered technique on an irregular planchet, resulting in uneven surface texture around the periphery. The sparse nature of the reverse is consistent with KM#Y1 type coinage issued under Maharaja Narinder Singh of Patiala.
