| Obverse description | Draped bust of Queen Victoria facing left, engraved by William Wyon, occupying the central field of the host coin. A circular Qu'aiti countermark approximately 15mm in diameter is applied directly over the royal effigy, bearing Arabic inscriptions identifying the issuing authority. The legend 'VICTORIA QUEEN' runs along the upper periphery of the host coin, while the countermark legend reads 'الدوله منصر' (Munsir Al-Dawla, meaning 'Defender of the State') with the Hijri date '١٣٠٧' (1307 AH / 1890 AD). The countermark is incuse-applied and clearly distinguishable from the original milled design beneath it. |

The circular peripheral legend reads 'EAST INDIA COMPANY' around the upper arc, with the date '1840' prominently placed in the exergue below the wreath. The entire design is enclosed within a fine toothed border. The reverse retains its original milled design with no countermark applied. |
