Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Arabic inscription in bold Nasta'liq script reading 'Sultan Adil / Mahmud Shah Durani', with dotted ornamental devices separating the lines. An outer circular legend contains the mint name (Peshawar), the Hijri regnal year, and the year of accession, all rendered in the same calligraphic hand. The flan is characteristically irregular in outline, as typical of hammered coinage of the Durrani period. The field shows light granular texture with scattered pellet ornaments framing the central inscription.
