正面描述 Central field features a stylised swastika design composed of interlocking geometric arms, within which the royal name and titles of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev are inscribed in Devanagari script. A trident (trishula), symbol of the Hindu deity Shiva, occupies the central roundel of the swastika. The four quadrants of the swastika incorporate auspicious symbols including a sun, a conch shell, a flower, and ritual implements. The Bikram Sambat date appears at the base, and the whole design is enclosed within a beaded border.

附加信息

Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah ruled Nepal as an absolute monarch after dissolving the elected government in 1960 and banning political parties — a system he called the Panchayat, which concentrated authority through tiered village councils while keeping real power firmly with the crown. Coins struck during his reign carry the Vikrama Samvat calendar dates, which run approximately 56–57 years ahead of the Gregorian calendar, a detail that routinely trips up collectors cataloging by the struck year.
