Obverse description Central field features a trident (trishula) enclosed within a scalloped inner border, surrounded by a circular legend bearing the royal name and titles of King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev in Devanagari script, preceded by the auspicious honorific Sri repeated three times. Four Hindu religious symbols — Chakra (wheel), Shankha (conch), Gada (mace), and Padma (lotus) — are positioned at the cardinal points outside the inner border within a lobed decorative frame. Above the inner circle, a crescent moon and sun flank the Sri symbol, while the Bikram Sambat regnal year appears at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded outer border.
