| Reverse description | The reverse is entirely occupied by a bold multi-line Persian inscription in flowing Nasta'liq script, arranged in two curved registers filling the field and identifying the emperor and regnal year. The legend reads: 'Sikka zad bar sim Jahangir Shah bin Akbar Shah, sana 13' (Coin struck in silver by Jahangir Shah, son of Akbar Shah, Year 13). The inscription is framed by a beaded border consistent with Mughal hammered coinage of the period. The calligraphy is deeply struck and boldly rendered, characteristic of the high artistic standards of Jahangir's mint production. |
