| Beschrijving voorzijde | Central field bears a Persian couplet in bold Nastaliq script incorporating the pre-accession name 'Salim Shah', arranged in two hemistich lines across the flan. The regnal year appears within or adjacent to the poetic verse. The inscription is rendered in the characteristic flowing Mughal calligraphic style with floral ornaments separating the lines. The legend fills the entire field to the coin's edge, leaving virtually no undecorated space. |

| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse displays the mint name 'Ahmadabad' (Ahmedabad) together with the Ilahi regnal year 50 and the Ilahi month 'Di' (Dey), all inscribed in bold Nastaliq calligraphy arranged in two or three registers across the field. The name of the ruling emperor Jahangir is incorporated into the legend in Arabic script. Characteristic Mughal floral rosette ornaments punctuate the text, and the inscription extends to the coin's periphery in keeping with Mughal rupee convention. |
