| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field is entirely occupied by the imperial Arabic legend in flowing Nasta'liq calligraphy, arranged in multiple lines across the flan. The inscription reads the full imperial titulature of Jahandar Shah: 'Abu al-Fath Muhammad Mu'izz al-Din Jahandar Shah Badshah Ghazi.' The legend is contained within two diagonal band divisions typical of late Mughal hammered rupees, framing the calligraphic text in the field. The irregular flan edges, characteristic of hand-struck Mughal coinage, are visible at the periphery. The strike is moderately well-centred with bold relief lettering typical of the brief reign of Jahandar Shah. |
