Obverse description Central field dominated by bold calligraphic legends in Arabic script arranged within a square cartouche, bearing the emperor's titles and name. The inscription identifies the ruler as Islam Shah Sultan, rendered in large, stylised Naskh lettering across multiple lines. Nagari script appears alongside the Arabic, incorporating the regnal name in Devanagari characters. The AH regnal year is inscribed in the lower register of the square, with additional marginal legends running along the outer border of the coin. The strike is characteristic of the hammered technique used at Suri-period mints, resulting in a slightly irregular flan.
