| Beschrijving keerzijde | The reverse presents the royal titulature of Ibrahim Shah Suri in bold Arabic calligraphy within a square cartouche, identifying the ruler as 'Ibrahim Shah Sultan' with the mint name 'Zarb Agra' (struck at Agra) and the regnal year 962 AH (corresponding to 1555 CE). The inscription is densely arranged in multiple horizontal registers, characteristic of Suri dynastic coinage. The hammered flan displays an irregular edge with slight curvature typical of hand-struck rupees of the period. The legend fills the field completely, leaving minimal open space, in keeping with the calligraphic conventions of mid-sixteenth-century North Indian Islamic coinage. |
