| Obverse description | Left-facing crowned effigy of King George V, draped in military uniform with epaulettes and decorations, including a prominent medal at the truncation. The king wears the Imperial State Crown, rendered in fine detail. The legend GEORGE V KING EMPEROR arcs around the periphery, divided between the left and right fields. The border is composed of a continuous raised denticular ring. The portrait is the work of engraver Percy Metcalfe, executed in a refined, high-relief style befitting a British colonial silver issue. |

| Reverse description | Central quartered shield bearing the arms of Mauritius: the upper-left quarter depicts a sailing vessel, the upper-right shows three palm trees, the lower-left bears a key, and the lower-right displays a star above a diagonal stripe. The date 1934 is divided and flanked on either side of the shield, with the numerals 19 to the left and 34 to the right. The legend MAURITIUS arcs above and ONE RUPEE below, each separated from the date by ornamental flower rosette stops. Engraver's initials K and G appear at the base of the shield on either side. The border features a raised denticular ring matching the obverse. |
