背面描述 Central field bearing a multi-line Persian inscription in Naskh script, divided by a raised horizontal line bisecting the flan. The upper portion contains the mint epithet and additional imperial titles, while the lower portion records the regnal year (julus) and the mint name Murshidabad. The lettering is deeply struck in the hammered tradition, with the inscription extending close to the coin's irregular edge. The style is consistent with Mughal provincial coinage of the Murshidabad mint during the reign of Farrukhsiyar.

附加信息

Farrukhsiyar's reign is inseparable from the 1717 firman granted to the English East India Company — a royal decree exempting company trade in Bengal from customs duties, won through a combination of bribery and the medical services of company surgeon William Hamilton, who treated the emperor's venereal disease. The Murshidabad mint, operating under Nawab Murshid Quli Khan, was among the most prolific silver-striking facilities in Bengal throughout this period.

Farrukhsiyar was ultimately strangled on orders of the Sayyid Brothers in 1719, having been deposed, blinded, and imprisoned first.
