| Beschrijving voorzijde | Hammered silver flan bearing a three-line Persian couplet in bold Nasta'liq script within the central field, reading 'sikka zad az fazl-i haqq bar sim o zar / badshah-i bahr o bar Farrukhsiyar,' proclaiming the emperor Farrukhsiyar's sovereignty over land and sea. The regnal year in AH numerals (1124) appears in the lower portion of the field. The legends are disposed in curvilinear registers characteristic of Mughal rupee design, with the text occupying the full flan. Floral or ornamental dots serve as decorative separators between the lines of inscription. The overall style reflects the refined calligraphic tradition of the Mughal imperial mint. |
