| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold Arabic calligraphic cartouche rendered in the Naskh style, containing the regnal legend of Dost Muhammad Khan. The inscription is enclosed within a decorative foliate border composed of stylized floral and vegetal motifs, characteristic of early Barakzai coinage. Pellet ornaments are interspersed throughout the border design. The flan is irregular in shape, as typical of hand-struck hammered coinage of this period. The overall execution is robust, with high-relief lettering dominating the field. |
