Obverse description Persian legend struck in the name of Mughal Emperor Shah Alam II, rendered in Arabic script across the field. The inscription, reading 'Shah Alam Badshah Ghazi, sikka zad bar haft kishwar' ('Shah Alam, King and Holy Warrior, who struck coins over seven climes'), is only partially legible due to the small planchet size relative to the die. The legends are arranged in multiple registers across a plain field, characteristic of Mughal-derived hammered coinage. The irregular planchet results in clipped or missing portions of the outer legend.

Reverse description Persian legend in Arabic script denoting the mint name and regnal year, arranged in multiple registers across the field. The inscription references the mint of Shadhorah and the regnal years 33 and 34 of Shah Alam II, with the formula 'zarb Shadhohra manus maimnat julus.' Two distinctive military mint marks are present — an inverted battle axe and a mace — identifying this as a field or campaign issue struck under the authority of army commander Jean-Baptiste Filose during the Maratha campaigns. The irregular flan is typical of this emergency or field-mint production.
