Obverse description Hammered silver field bearing a multi-line Persian-script legend in the name of the Mughal emperor Muhammad Shah (INO Muh Shah), inscribed across the central field. The legend is arranged in typical Mughal rupee format with the royal citation occupying the upper portion of the flan. Additional Devanagari or Persian auxiliary marks appear in the field, consistent with Maratha overstrike practice. The strike is characteristic of the irregular, hand-hammered fabric typical of late Mughal-period Maratha issues.
