| Obverse description | The obverse is based on the standard Government of India One Rupee note, with a circular vignette at right containing a crowned portrait of King George VI in profile facing left, inscribed 'GEORGE VI KING EMPEROR' around the rim. The centre carries the large denomination text 'ONE RUPEE' over a fine guilloche underprint, with a red overprint reading 'BURMA CURRENCY BOARD LEGAL TENDER IN BURMA ONLY' applied diagonally across the face. A blank watermark panel occupies the left portion, with the inscription 'FOR THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA' and a manuscript signature at lower right. |
